Racism and discrimination for being a non-white minority. Difficulty getting jobs, being asked if I speak English. Stupid things like that. The bullying stopped in 7th grade when I lost a lot of weight. However, I lived in fear that others would once again notice I was fat, stupid, or ugly. My bullies had followed me down the hallways, saying nasty insults to me between classes. I wanted to avoid having that happen again. Being born and brought up in Haryana, I’ve been always bullied for my skin colour, that’s dusky, dark wheatish or whatever you call.
Yes, when I was a little 4 year old. I am adopted from China. Although, I don’t look like the average asian population, I do have smaller eyes and face that has less defenition but I am significantly taller. (1,69 cm/ 5,7 ). I don’t think that you can come up with worse things than this when you are so young. So that was in my ‘early days’. That was when I started to cry. Hard. The 4 guys ( who actually were the worst out of my whole class) had to write an apology letter to me. Which were more insincere than Donald Trump’s speeches. Now I am older, I notice myself being really carefull towards people and I find myself struggling with communicating with certain people because of this. Now it is all fine, nothing is happening at the moment. Just laying in my bed and doing some Quora….
I went to a shit, stuck up religious school that took it’s pride reveling in it’s disgusting hypocrisy, shunning everyone out that dared to not align themselves with the “christian-conservative” agenda that was pushed at us from all angles. As I wrote about recently for another question, when I was little my three older sisters would sometimes tie me to an apple tree and wiggle stinging nettles under my nose to torment me. Silly kids’ stuff, but bullying of a kind. But sometimes (for no reason I can recall) another of my sisters would become the target for the day, teased or ridiculed or shunned from a game. Did I ‘eck-as-like! Rejoicing that it wasn’t me for that moment in time, I would happily join the other two sisters in mocking or snubbing the third. I was the bully on those days.
