But most of those bands were doing so intentionally just to annoy people who think metal is evil and it just became their thing. Most bands grow out of that and move on to other subjects. Sure you could pull up some Mercyful Fate, Dark Funeral, Behemoth, etc. But frankly, most of the “evil” metal was really just speaking out about the darker side of Christianity, especially from countries that were Christianized and their own local faith and traditions suppressed.

Yes, absolutely. A person’s sexual orientation or gender identity does not impact their ability to create or perform music in any genre, including metal. Music is a form of expression that transcends gender, sexuality, and any other personal characteristic.
